WIB is called winter bathing in Berlin. The first 6 pictures show
impressions of the 13. Meeting at 11.1.1997. Here is the ladder ready
for the Berlin-seals.

Year by year there are approxnately 15 Ice-bathing clubs from Germany
and other countries as there from Copenhagen.

Traditionally Neptun terminates the sporty high light.
The ice skate runners in the background do obviously not feel threatenerd
themselves in their own feel.

The WIB 97 is the first time for Ines. In that moment thoughts
as total insanity are forgotten.
|
The hosts (in the picture) gladly invested many hours of work, in
order to create a sufficiently large ice hole.
|
Luckily it goes ashore again, the evening is celebrated together with
the friends.

WIB 1998: An almost summer Ambiente on the 10.1. does not correspond
necessarily to the desire of the active ones, the water invateswith
5,5°C already to a longer bath. Sun and 10°C air temperature
are quite right for the spectators even.

While the Baltic Sea holiday-makers wait for better weather in the
hotel, the citifens of the Berlin-Seals don`t let themselves be impressed
of rain and wind.

Naturally, it is most beautiful with ice and cold weather. The relatively
warm season 1998/99 let the heart of the icebatherstrike higher on 13
December 1998: An ice hole of this size is enough, to experience successively
the lucky moments.

9.1.99: To the WIB 99 there is no trace of ice. At 4°C air temperature
and water temperature of 1,5°C the envy of spectators is within
limits.

As you have already notice, linings are in at the WIB. Otherwise
you would not find complete photos here. Out of practical reasons winterbathers
go naked into the water.

Omitted devils and papernoses also participate.

Pleasent 4°C air temperature lure again many spectators to the
big spectacle at the bathing beach at the Orankesee.
|
Many winterbathers go with shoes into the water, some additionally
with original caps.
|
The polar bear is never missing a year, it expects the spectators
at the input to the bathing beach. After this mission it is most time
of 1999 a child.
